From research that has been done it is thought that the revenue produced by vehicle tracking sales will be around 3 billion Euros by the year 2012. This expectation is based on the rapid growth that the industry is enjoying despite the down turn in the economy.

Many believe that vehicle tracking systems help companies to save money and work more efficiently. This is obviously going to be hit with companies at any time, but when times are hard these type of products become even more popular.

The research done predicts that by 2012 more than 15 million cars, vans and trucks will be tracked via GPS tracking systems in Western Europe. Tracking can be used for a multitude of uses, but using it to track fleet vehicles appears to be it’s most economically successful application of the technology so far.

Other uses of GPS tracking are people tracking, pet tracking and individual product tracking to name just a few. These areas are also expected to see a large amount of growth over the coming years. The tracking of people is expected to be one of the next largest areas. Many people in the world are at risk of kidnap and tracking can help to make these peoples lives a little safer.
